Since stepping down as CEO of Eu Yan Sang International Ltd (EYSI) in 2017, Richard has been Non-Executive Chairman and leads its Board in providing strategic and governance oversight. In his more than 30-year career with EYSI, he has been instrumental in transforming EYSI into one of Asia’s largest consumer healthcare groups based on Traditional Chinese Medicine. Prior to EYSI, Richard worked in Merchant Banking, Stockbroking, Computer Distribution and Business Development for a retail group. Besides EYSI, Richard sits on the boards of several listed and unlisted companies as well as non-profit organisations.

Richard was named the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2011 (Singapore) and recognised as the CEO of the year by the Singapore Corporate Awards 2010. He was conferred the Public Service Medal (PBM) at the Singapore National Day Awards 2020.

Richard holds a LLB degree from the University of London. He and his wife Mary have four children and two grandchildren.

Richie EU has been appointed as the Managing Director of Mergers & Acquisitions at Eu Yan Sang
International Limited as of September 2019. Richie’s initial focus will be on strategic M&A deals that will be profit accretive to the Group.

Prior to this new role, he was the Managing Director of Eu Yan Sang Trading (Hong Kong) since March 2017. Mr Eu oversaw all aspects of operations in Hong Kong and Macau which included driving business growth through strategic planning, talent acquisition, people development, implementation of customer-centric initiatives and expansion of retail, wholesale and e-commerce channels.

Prior to this appointment, Mr Eu had been the General Manager of Strategic Development of Eu Yan Sang International Ltd since June 2015. He led the Group’s strategic partnerships, played important roles to drive key initiatives that impact the Group’s long-term directions, with a focus on product innovation and business development.

He represents the fifth generation of the Eu family in Eu Yan Sang business.

Richie also sits on Boards of notable charities such as talenTtrust Singapore, a skills-based volunteering organization that looks to match charities with mentors from professional backgrounds . . . as well as Rainbow Centre, a social service organization that operates three special education schools for infants, children, and youths with special needs in Singapore.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Babson College in Wellesley (Massachusetts).

Mrs. Ng Gim Choo started her career as an auditor. When her husband was posted to London in the 1980s, she gave up a flourishing career and became a housewife. Seeing how much her daughter enjoyed attending school in London, Mrs. Ng became a parent volunteer. She discovered an education philosophy that differed greatly from Singapore’s. Learning was joyful, not stressful, and teachers respected children. Motivated to pioneer a child-centred inquiry-based educational philosophy in Singapore, Mrs. Ng set up EtonHouse in 1995. EtonHouse has since grown into a multi-brand global education group with over 100 schools in 9 countries, and over 25,000 students from infant care to high school.

Mrs. Ng has received many awards for her significant contributions towards raising new standards of excellence in international education. These include Freedom of City of London (2009), Honorary Citizen of Suzhou Award (2011), Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Award - Education (2019), Forbes’ Asia Power Businesswomen (2021), Her World Woman of the Year (2022), included in Tatler's Asia’s Most Influential (2022) and Forbes 50 Over 50: Asia (2023) lists, and honoured as one of the AAPI Women Leaders (2024).

After handing the reins to her son Mr. Ng Yi-Xian, Mrs. Ng now devotes her time to philanthropic efforts through the EtonHouse Community Fund, an IPC charity organisation founded in 2015.

Mr. Ng took over the reins as Group Chief Executive Officer of EtonHouse International Education Group in 2020, leading a team of over 5,000 staff and providing education to more than 25,000 students across over 100 schools in nine countries. Catering to both local and expatriate families, EtonHouse offers programmes from infant care to high school in both premium and affordable spaces. As a second-generation entrepreneur and son of founder Ng Gim Choo, he is dedicated to taking the group to greater heights. Under his leadership, the brand has expanded, with the creation of Middleton International School, providing affordable international education, and The Eton Academy, which offers high-quality academic enrichment for students from preschool to primary. He is also the driving force behind EtonHouse’s digital transformation, positioning it as a digital-first organisation with innovation at its core. Mr. Ng’s achievements have earned him recognition as one of the winners of The Next ICON Awards 2024 by ICON Singapore, celebrating his outstanding impact on the education landscape.

In his personal life, he enjoys outdoor activities, adventure sports, and is a strong advocate for mindfulness, a value he actively promotes within the organisation. As a father of twin boys and a daughter, Yi-Xian navigates the joys and challenges of parenthood while overseeing the education and well-being of over 25,000 students in EtonHouse schools worldwide.
