Welcome to a webinar on family offices and family investment companies focusing on what drives strategic and financial decision-making in these organizations. The event is a collaboration between FBN Asia and the Center for Family Enterprise at Stockholm School of Economics and aims to share unique insights and research findings from family offices in the Nordic Region (i.e., Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Iceland).
Family offices and family investment companies are emerging as major actors in both public and private markets and their operating logic and strategic choices can be usefully understood through the lens of established family enterprise research and frameworks in addition to financial economics theory. The webinar will feature researchers from the Center for Family Enterprise at Stockholm School of Economics sharing insights from a recently published report with an overview of research on the unique dynamics of working in close family constellations.
The Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) was founded in 1909 by a group of leading Swedish business families and entrepreneurs and is the leading business school in the Nordics (Financial Times, 2024). The Center for Family Enterprise (CFE) was established in 2022 and is housed within the House of Innovation – SSE's interdisciplinary research, education and outreach environment focused on entrepreneurship, innovation and digitalization.

Mattias Nordqvist is a Professor of Business Administration and holder of the SEB Chair in Entrepreneurship and Family Business. He is also the Founding Director of Center for Family Enterprise at House of Innovation, Stockholm School of Economics. He is widely published in the field of entrepreneurship, strategy and family business and regarded as a globally leading academic in the field. In addition to his academic roles as researcher and educator, he has many years of experience as advisor, public speaker and board member in family enterprises and family offices.

Korschun
Stockholm School of Economics
Camille Korschun is a PhD candidate at House of Innovation/Department of Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Technology at Stockholm School of Economics. Her research focuses on how business families seek to making an impact through starting, investing in and advising social ventures. Previously, Camille served as Senior Associate Director at Columbia Business School's Global Family Enterprise Program. Camille holds an MBA from Columbia Business School.
Erik Wetter
Stockholm School of Economics
Erik Wetter is Assistant Professor (docent) at Stockholm School of Economics. His background is in entrepreneurship and innovation, and he has previously conducted applied research in collaboration with some of the world’s largest family foundations. He has been a visiting researcher at NUS Business School in Singapore, SciencesPo and ESSEC in France, as well as a High-level Expert to the European Commission.
